*Note about supplies:
Please do not hesitate to ask if any of the teacher's recommended supplies are available in the classroom or in the store. We understand that sometimes there are questions and concerns about the supply list, and we would like anyone who wants to come to any of the classes to be able to attend.

You may cancel a class up to 3 days prior to class to allow us to give the teacher adequate time to prepare for class.  If you cancel within a shorter time, you may send a friend or get a kit (if available). If there is a waiting list and we can fill the spot, you will receive a refund. Friday:My Imperfect Heart
So often we are after messy, layered, honest and rich pieces of art. That's what this class is about, putting ourselves together on the pages, revealing tiny bits of ourselves, piecing ourselves together with layers of tape, paint and paper. Prepare to get messy as you learn a variety of new mixed media techniques. This book can be a deeply personal journey or a book of luscious, playful layers. There is something for everyone in this class.
Supply list: an apron, scissors, a selection of favorite collage ephemera (think about reading this when choosing your images), bone folder, cork back metal ruler, roll of paper towels OR an old rag, permanent black ink pad (if you have one),  1" brush to glue and paint (I like chip or bristle brushes), a few of your favorite glue sticks (large glue sticks will last you longer), roll of waxed paper OR an old catalog or magazine to glue on (if you don't want to use all of your waxed paper for this.)

Saturday: Inner Voice: A Conversation in Art Journaling
In this special eight hour long workshop, not only will you construct a new and unusual journal with pages that flip, fold and pull out in ways you never thought possible, but you will dive deep onto the pages. You will combine layers of paper, paint and more to form your own artistic voice on the page. Learn how to push, pull and coax ideas on the page. Learn how to express yourself with layers of paper, paint, pens, stencils and much, much more. You will have a conversation in color, pattern, shape, design, text, texture and more using mixed mixed techniques on the pages of your new journal.
Supply list: an apron, scissors, a bottle of tacky glue, a selection of favorite collage ephemera (think about reading this when choosing your images), bone folder, cork back metal ruler, roll of paper towels OR an old rag, permanent black ink pad (if you have one),  1" brush to glue and paint (I like chip or bristle brushes), a few of your favorite glue sticks (large glue sticks will last you longer), roll of waxed paper OR an old catalog or magazine to glue on (if you don't want to use all of your waxed paper for this.)

 Sunday:The Artist's Playground
Learn how to combine your precious bits of ephemera into a truly one of a kind artist's journal. Create a playground of self expression and discovery. You will learn how to step back and see things in your artwork that you haven't noticed before.
I have been working on this class for over two years now and am very eager to share it with you. You will be inspired in this class.
